Car-free Communities: 

An upscale suburb of Vauban in Freiburg, Germany is one of the first of many communities to be entirely car-free.  All paths in the community are designed exclusively for bicycling and walking and cars are banned from all streets, driveways, and home garages. As a result, more than 70% of residents do not own cars and most people report feeling happier and healthier in their new community.
