My name is Ally and I have been dancing folklorico for three years. I was first interested in folklorico when I realized my high school had three different folklorico classes. I thought it would be fun to try so I ended up in the intermediate class my sophomore year. I quickly realized folklorico was something that I could not live without, and strived to be on the team, Xochitl. So my senior year I finally made Xochitl as the first white member and began to TA for the other two dance classes. Each week I ended up dancing for 22 hours and loved every minute of it. Since graduating I’ve realized that I need folklorico in my life because it brings me so much joy and I am hoping to audition for a team within the next year.
